With the start of a new year many of us are trying to be more mindful of what we are eating especially after indulging over the holidays. Unfortunately cold weather has my body gravitating towards warm and comforting foods and away from salads and other leafy greens. This isn’t always a good thing since many of those comfort foods that we know and love contain extra fats and calories that I don’t really need. For my five on Friday this week I am including a few of my favorite comfort foods that I have lightened up so that I can enjoy some of my favorite foods during these colder months without the guilt.
