I thought I would do things a little differently this week for my five on Friday and answer a few “survey type” questions that I have seen on other blogs before. We’ve had a lot going on this week that’s left me feeling a bit run down so I am more than happy to see the weekend upon us. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. As always thank you April, Christina, Natasha, and Darci for hosting this link up.
Reading– I am currently reading Someone Else’s Love Story– I have heard really great things about this book but truthfully I am still waiting for it to pick up. I’m almost 100 pages in so by this point I would like to be getting sucked into the story and loving or hating the characters and so far that hasn’t happened. I certainly don’t hate the book and do plan to finish it but I am hoping for things to pick up a bit. Plus…I can’t stand the thought of starting a book and not finishing it so there’s that too.
Sweatpants and a hoodie. Sadly, my favorite thing to be in when I’m at home, especially during the winter.
Watching- I finally found some time to binge watch several shows of Scandal and I’m now in the middle of season 3. Oh my word that show is so good. Sometimes I wonder how many plot twist you can throw into one show.
Jason and I started watching Breaking Bad together. We couldn’t wait to jump on the bandwagon after hearing how crazy and wonderful it was so that’s what we started after finally finishing Friday Night Lights. So…….Does it get better? The beginning of season one seems so dark and depressing. Jason on the other hand loved it from the get go. It’s certainly a far cry from FNL.
Listening – Scottie’s sound machine through the monitor. Her sound of choice is the ocean and Jason and I are at the point where we can’t sleep without that soothing sound either.
Eating- last night we tried out a new restaurant called The Improper Pig. It’s BBQ but they also serve fun things like BBQ kale chips, seared tofu, cornbread fritters with black eyed pea salsa and more. The food was great with a casual family-friendly atmosphere. I ordered a salad with mixed greens, pulled chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, pickled onions, cheddar cheese, and carrots. Also, I had a few cornbread fritters AND ice cream for dessert. The restaurant is located right beside Dairy Queen so we made an impulse stop inside for a few ice creams to go. I couldn’t tell you the last time I stepped inside Dairy Queen but that little splurge was so worth it. Not to mention this reaction when she sat down with her little cup. Night=Made.
