Friday Favorites

Hello and happy Friday. I can’t believe Christmas is a week away. Why oh why must this season go by so fast. We’ve had a busy, yet exciting week. I hosted a cookie party Monday for Scottie’s playgroup  and the mamma’s. I got to take cupcakes to Scottie’s school for her class Christmas party and we have plans to visit Santa this morning and we’re having breakfast with Mrs. Clause tomorrow morning. So many fun holiday activities. Oh, and in the midst of all this holiday fun we closed on our new house this week. That’s right, the week after Christmas we’re moving to a new home not to far from where we are now. We are sad to say goodbye to our current home and all the memories and friends we’ve made here but we are looking forward to the new place and this next chapter. So yes, things have been nutty around here and I may or may not be crazy taking all of this on 7 months pregnant but at least we will be settled (or close to) before the little one arrives. Here’s a look at a few other things I’m loving this week and as always leave a comment telling me a few of your favorites from the week.

This video of old movie dance scenes to Uptown Funk is the best, and it most likely will make you want to get up and do a little jig of your own.

I finished  The Girl In The Spiders Web this week, a continuation from Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series.  Even though this book isn’t written by the original author of the series (who wrote three books before his heart attack) I still found this book to be intriguing  and suspenseful. The long list of characters can be daunting, but I think that’s true in the original series as well. Overall I really liked it and would recommend it, especially if your familiar with the millennium series and looking for another adventure with the dynamic duo that is Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist.

This is one of those recipes that as soon as I saw it I knew it was going to the top of the list to make. I’m making it Sunday night and I know it will give us plenty of leftovers, which is perfect for next week and the days leading up to Christmas.

I made a batch of Gingerbread Granola yesterday to have around for the holidays. This recipe is a winner.
