S’mores Smoothie

S’mores, are the quintessential summertime treat and today I’m bringing it to you in the form of a smoothie. You’re welcome.

The inspiration for this smoothie came about after I received  samples from the folks at Four Sigmatic containing their mushroom based superfood powders. No, we are not talking psychedelic mushrooms here. Four Sigmatic was founded with the goal of helping people eat more of the world’s most scientifically studied superfoods, like mushrooms, in a way that’s easy and delicious. Instead of making pills and capsules, they chose to make mushroom drinks by putting their product in powder form. The packaging is made easy with the different flavors offered in individual packages making them easy for traveling and grabbing on the go.

While Four Sigmatic is making a huge splash in the industry for its focus on mushroom based products, its most well-known product is the reishi hot chocolate. Often called “the queen of mushrooms,” reishi calms you down and ensures better sleep by naturally regulating the hormonal system and lowering cortisol levels. Since I love anything chocolate this is obviously the packet I grabbed first to try out. Don’t let the word mushrooms turn you away from giving this product a try as it taste nothing like them. The hot cocoa is full of dark chocolate flavor that will leave you perfectly satisfied. Any of the Four Sigmatic superfood packets can be ordered online or found at Whole Foods, Amazon, Thrive market or Sprouts Farmers Market.

Chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers, banana, peanut butter, and more chocolate. This smoothie offers everything you could ever want in a glass. It’s a nice delicious treat the whole family can enjoy while trying to cool down from the hot summer heat. It’s healthy enough for breakfast while still being able to pass for dessert.

I’ve gotten to where I prefer my smoothies in a bowl so I can scoop it up with a spoon but if you prefer sipping it in a glass it obviously still delivers the same incredible taste. Use frozen bananas for a creamier texture and depending on how thick you prefer your smoothie you may need to adjust the amount of milk accordingly. Top with toasted marshmallows, chocolate chips and graham cracker crumbs for the ultimate S’mores experience.

Should you choose to order any of the products offered from Four Sigmatic off the website you can use the code keyingredients for 15% off your order.

I was not compensated for this post, however I did receive free samples from Four Sigmatic for my review. All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.
