As I mentioned previously I’m posting holiday gift guides this week and today’s post is all about those little girls in our lives. If you missed my gift guide for babies you can find it here. I think when it comes to small kids no toy is a bad toy. With that being said I try to be somewhat practical on things I choose to buy. If you find something that provides endless entertainment for several years to come then I personally think you have a winner. Another bonus point for me is when toys serve as both a fun and educational tool for their growing minds. At the end of the day it’s all about seeing those little girls excited and happy and I certainly think this list fits the bill.
Bicycle-This has been on Scottie’s wish list for months. It’s definitely time for an upgrade from her tricycle she got when she turned one so this will certainly be under the tree Christmas morning.
Dress up clothes-These are always a good idea. Scottie is really into Princesses right now so those are her favorites for dressing up but there are so many options from superheroes to doctors and even a chef.
I Spy Books– Many of our car trips are spent playing I spy so I thought these books would be really fun. There are several different options available but I like this one as we’re currently working on learning the alphabet.
Digital Watch– Scottie is always asking us for the time and loves wearing her daddy’s watch around the house. I feel like this digital watch is a good way to teach her to tell time on her own and I really think she is going to love wearing this around.
Zootopia DVD – This is the first and only movie Scottie has seen in the theaters and she still talks about it all the time. Zootopia is enjoyed by adults too so it’s definitely a good one to have for family movie nights at home.
Dollhouse -I think this present speaks for itself. Any little girl would go crazy for this.
Hair Bows– My friend April has turned her hobby into a small business by making and selling these unbelievably cute and stylish hair bows on Etsy. If you’re looking for a particular color or style that you don’t see on her site she will happily do what she can to give you what you want. These bows are cute, affordable, and delivered with impeccable customer service.
Melissa and Doug Wooden Map Puzzle– This puzzle is still a little advanced for my 3 1/2-year-old but with the help of mom or dad she can do it. Puzzles are an excellent tool for a child’s mind as they work on hand eye coordination, fine motor skills and problem solving. Scottie is always curious to know where her daddy is when he travels and this puzzle map can help her understand a little better.
LeapFrog Scribble and write– Scottie loves the idea of computers and games so she will love this. I also think its perfect for car rides.
