Friday Favorites: 2/10/17

Good Morning. I’ve been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to come up with a clever introduction instead of my usual “happy Friday”. However, this is the second morning in a row I’ve gotten out of bed before 5 a.m. so apparently I need a bit more time for the coffee to get me going. Any big plans this weekend? We are celebrating Friday and the start to the weekend by going out for pizza tonight. I’m not one for going out on Valentine’s Day so Jason offered to make me his famous short ribs tomorrow night for a little at home date night. Having him cook for me is a treat in itself and I certainly wasn’t going to pass up the offer. Other than that we have a birthday party to attend and photo session for my little guy who will be turning ONE next weekend. Since it feels like we just came home from the hospital with him I’m still trying to wrap my head around that one.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and since I didn’t say it in the intro and still haven’t come up with something clever “Happy Friday”.

I finished Homegoing yesterday for our book club discussion this morning. You guys this book is so good and unlike anything I’ve read before. The description of the book did not pull me in right away but it didn’t take me long to get invested in the story. The author does a great job of writing so that it reflects each of the different time periods. There are a lot of characters in this story and I found that I had to keep flipping back in the book to keep the story line connected. For this reason I would recommend reading the hard copy for this one.

Ciabatta Pizza Bread

Banana Bread Smoothie Bowl
Something about eating a smoothie from a bowl makes it 10 times more appealing

This pull apart bread
Bring on the carbs and cheese

Slow cooker Butter Chicken
It’s healthy, looks delicious, and made using the crock pot so obviously I’m a big fan.

Scottie and I are making these cookies this weekend to share with friends for Valentine’s Day

How good do these pretzels look? I must give this a try ASAP.

This blackened salmon salad looks like a great way to switch up our weekly salmon dinner.
