We have one more week of summer before Scottie starts back to school. This summer’s been so fun, but much too fast, and I’m kind of sad to see it coming to an end. We’re planning to pack in as much fun as we can next week and enjoying a few more lazy days of summer before our daily routine kicks back in. I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

The Great American Eclipse that took place Monday

This 4 ingredient smoked salmon dip is simple to make and it looks delicious.

I recently finished Dreamland Burning¬†for our next book club discussion. Unintentionally, this is the second YA novel we’ve read in a row and, whereas I didn’t love it as much as The Hate U Give, it was an important novel that needs to be read. The book gives insight into a dark part of our history and the Race Riots of 1921. The story goes back and forth from present day to Tulsa in 1921. It’s a great work of historical fiction that’s fast paced and relevant to events happening today. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I’m sold by anything that has coffee cake in the title.

Garlic Shrimp in Coconut Milk. I mean, just look at that broth.

It’s getting close to soup season and this detox soup is calling my name.
