What a fast and busy week it’s been. We are officially on summer break as of today and my little girl is off to kindergarten in the fall. We had an end of year picnic yesterday with Scottie’s class where we got to say “see you later” to her teachers and friends. Although it was an emotional morning, it’s also incredible to see her grow into the smart, kind and beautiful girl that she is.

As soon as school was over we hopped in the car and made our way to the mountains where we’ll be spending Memorial weekend with my parents. Jason and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary as well but other than that we’re just enjoying the lazy days of summer.  Have a wonderful weekend.Last day of school for these two cuties

32 new fiction books just in time for your summer reading.

I finished reading The Great Alone and really loved it. This is one of, if not, the best book I’ve read this year, and I gave it 5 well deserved stars on Goodreads. I haven’t read many books that take place in Alaska and the author does such an incredible job of giving the readers a vivid description to it’s harshness and beauty. This book is a beautiful, and engaging story about love and loss, the fight for survival, and the wildness that lives in both man and nature.

Burger season is upon us and this one has my name on it.

I’m definitely making this chicken for the sauce alone.

These lemon bars take me back to my childhood.

I love everything about this gluten-free Asian noodle stir fry.

In cased you missed it:
