Friday Favorites: 7/27/18

TGIF! I can’t believe we are just a few  days away from August, which means it’s back to school for many of us. We leave for the beach tomorrow, a little later than we normally go, and we are all excited for this much anticipated annual trip. Blogging has been sparse lately to say the least so I wanted to pop in real quick and share a few of my favorite things lately. Happy weekend to ya!

These donuts truly are magical.

I gave this workout a try this week and I was a sweaty mess when it was over.

I took my girlfriend dinner this week since she just welcomed a new baby girl. I made  these chicken fajitas and they could not have been more easy to make. She sent me a text to let me know that, not only did it feed them dinner, but she also had enough for lunch several times over the week.

This summery dish is perfect as a side or a lighter lunch or dinner.

Who can say no to a cinnamon roll this size.

I’ve finished two books lately. The first one is The Astonishing Color of After, a beautifully written YA novel. This book touches on some serious topics such as suicide and depression but it does so in a respectable way. I loved reading more about Chinese/Taiwanese culture and the author describes it in a descriptive and colorful way. I found some of the magical realism elements to be a little confusing but overall I really enjoyed this book.

The other book I read is Us Against You, the sequel to Beartown, by Fredrik Backman. Both of these books I loved so much and if you haven’t read them add them to your TBR list now. The writing is beautiful, the story is captivating and I want to continue reading more books about these characters.
