Friday Favorites: 10/5/18

Last weekend my husband and I hiked 30 miles along the Appalachian Trail, for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It was possibly the hardest thing I’ve ever done but also one of the most rewarding. It took me a few days to recover but now that we’re almost a week out I can say with confidence that I would do it again.

Needless to say after last weekends hike and flying solo this week in the parenting department I am so glad it’s Friday. We have a busy but fun weekend ahead with some much needed down time thrown is as well. I planned to get a post out earlier this week but we’ve had some internet troubles so hopefully I’ll have it coming to you this weekend. For now I’ll leave you will a round up for a few of my favorites from lately. Have a wonderful weekend.

I finished reading Next Year in Havana this week and definitely recommend it. This historical fiction novel is set in Cuba and goes back and forth between 1950’s Cuba and present day. It gave me a glimpse into Cuba’s history, which quite honestly I don’t know much about, and now I want to know so much more. It was a fascinating read about love and courage and the depths one will go to for their country.

35-minute power yoga flow

It’s apple season and I’m 100% here for it.

I ordered these shoes and  love them. They’re super comfy and the price can’t be beat. Now if only the weather would get cooler so I can finally wear them.

Comfort food at it’s finest

In case you need some inspiration….What to cook this October.

I’m always sold when peanut sauce is involved.

These spirals are perfect for my kids lunch.

When a cookie and cake become one.
