Five on Friday

I took a few weeks off from the Five on Friday party but I’m back ready to share a few things I’m loving this week. Like many of these post this list is random. Thank you April, Christina, Natasha, and Darci for hosting this link up. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

1. While shopping at Whole Foods recently I picked up this Kombucha made by Lenny Boy Brewing Company located here in Charlotte and it was so good. So far I have tried the Ginger and Elite Beet and although both were good I have to say the Ginger one is my favorite. Lenny Boy’s is available in other states as well so if you are a Kombucha fan I recommend giving one of these a try. FYI…They also brew their own beer but I think it’s only available in select areas of North Carolina as of now.


2. For the past couple of weeks I’ve been taking Orangetheory classes at a new studio that opened here in Charlotte. I am absolutely crazy about this workout and I feel like I am being challenged in the best way possible. Orangetheory is an hour long interval based workout focusing on strength and cardio. I have introduced my husband to this fast pace workout and needless to say we’re both hooked. After doing 100 jump squats in addition to lunges in this weeks workout I am still sore 4 days later, which in my crazy head I consider a darn good workout.


3. I had two girlfriends over this week for dinner and I made this Ramen Noodle Bowl for us to eat. OHHH MY WORD. It was insanely good. I grew up eating those super unhealthy packages of ramen noodles (Did anyone else call them oodles of noodles??)) and I was so happy to discover this MUCH healthier and flavorful version. I am planning to make it again this weekend but may use chicken in place of the tofu since I will be making it for the mister and he isn’t on board with tofu.


4. I started a new book this week, Fangirl.  I haven’t gotten too far in it yet but I like it so far. I loved Eleanor and Park, also written by Rainbow Rowell, so after hearing several good things about this book I figured I would give it a try. Has anyone else read it..? Thoughts?


5 We had a few wonderful days here weather wise this week with sunshine and Carolina blue skies. I am so ready for more days like this.

    I’m so not a kombucha person!
    I am dieing to try out Orange Theory sometime! I actually think there is one here in DC somewhere!

    Loved Fangirl! Definitely didn’t love it as much as E&P, but I still really enjoyed it!

    Also, is it bad that I want some ramen now? I loved it as a kid and in college!!

    You should try this ramen noodle bowl. Seriously, it is so good. We need another girls night soon anyway and we may need to add Ramen noodles to our typical appetizer spread:)

    So happy to hear that you liked it! Thank you for including my ramen bowl and YES- I totally used to call them “Oodles of Noodles” 🙂 I used to love those things, creamy chicken was my go-to flavor.

    That interval class sounds awesome! Is it a chain or local? I would love to find something like that when I need a little extra motivation in my workout.

    Chicken was my favorite flavor too! Yes orangetheory is a chain and available in most big cities.
