Ham and Veggie Sandwich

Sometime the simple things are the best things and this ham and veggie sandwich is proof of that. Flavors of simple ingredients come together to bring you a flavorful, healthy and satisfying meal.

The thing that makes this sandwich stand out is the new Honey Mustard Sabra spread made with hummus used as the base.  This one-of-a kind condiment comes in a convenient squeezable bottle and is hitting the market with three delicious flavors: Garlic Herb, Honey Mustard and Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper. The spreads are made with flavorful, fresh, wholesome ingredients and contain 75% less fat than the leading mayonnaise. As someone whose been using hummus on my sandwiches for years I am loving these new flavors and it’s ingenious packaging. Well done Sabra, well done.

My love for sandwiches runs deep. They’re a quick and easy go-to meal, which is about all I have time for these days with two little ones at home with me. Since they can be customized based on personal preference and ingredients available, there are many different flavor combinations that can be used so you don’t feel like your eating the same thing day after day. Normally I keep my sandwiches simple with just ham, mayo or hummus, and maybe a little spinach but if I allow myself a few extra minutes I can take a sandwich from good to great. That’s what I did here with this Ham and veggie sandwich since I took the time to chop up a few extra ingredients to add inside. There is nothing mind blowing about this recipe but hopefully it will inspire you to step up your sandwich game as well if you find yourself in a rut.

This ham and veggie sandwich includes it all: whole grains, protein, healthy fats, fiber from the hummus and additional vitamins and minerals from the veggies. The addition of the honey mustard sabra spread gives this sandwich some pizzazz by adding a creamy texture and a slightly sweet taste. Layers of flavor and texture are brought together for an easy, healthy, and filling meal.
