Open-Faced Smoked Salmon Sandwich

This open-faced sandwich is going to rock your world with a creamy garlic herb spread, mashed avocado, salty smoked salmon, and a soft boiled egg over a crispy toasted bagel.


Smoked salmon is one of my favorite things to eat ever. It’s something I crave often so I usually keep some tucked away in the fridge on the regular. Smoked Salmon provides healthy fats and protein making it the perfect addition to breakfast, lunch or even dinner. I personally prefer it over top of toast or a bagel but it also makes a good addition to salads or even grain bowls.
This bagel-and-lox-inspired open-faced sandwich combines avocado, egg and smoked salmon. A creamy Garlic Herb Sabra Spread made with hummus takes the place of cream cheese for a spin on this classic sandwich.


I know I talked about these new spreads made by Sabra in a previous post but I’m loving them so much I feel they deserve another shout out. Plus, I’ve confessed my love for sandwiches already so coming up with ideas using this healthy and delicious spread has been fun for me. These newly released spreads come in three different flavors: Garlic Herb, Honey Mustard and Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper. They contain fresh ingredients and the convenient squeeze bottle makes it easy to add this healthy condiment to your sandwich.


Not only does the garlic herb spread add a flavorful layer of yummy goodness to this sandwich but it’s a much healthier option than mayonnaise or even cream cheese. This open faced sandwich contains over 20 grams of protein, providing your body with enough fuel to keep you going for hours. The bagel makes the perfect base as it holds up well to the layers of toppings on top. A scrambled or poached egg can be switched out for the hard boiled egg based on personal preference. Serve this savory sandwich for breakfast, brunch, lunch or even dinner alone or with a simple side salad for a healthy and satisfying meal.

  • 1 Tablespoon Sabra Garlic Herb Spread
  • ½ whole-wheat bagel, toasted
  • ¼ avocado, mashed
  • 2oz. smoked salmon
  • 1 hard boiled egg, sliced
  1. Spread the garlic herb sabra spread over the toasted bagel slice.
  2. Top with the smoked salmon, mashed avocado and the egg slices.
  3. Sprinkle with a touch of cracked pepper and serve
